Meet us in the coffeehouse and we’ll direct you to the horse stables in the nearby valley. We do not pick up in Isafjorður, getting to and from us is your own responsibility.
Sanda river riding tour
The Sanda River Riding tour will take you through the lush Sandar valley and along a tranquil river. You will experience the Icelandic countryside and up-close views of the ‘Wesfjords Alps’ while getting acquainted with our friendly Icelandic horses. The tour is an easy walking-pace, providing the perfect opportunity to get comfortable in the saddle, enjoy the view, and take photos.
Our standard 1 1/2-hour tour is suitable for those with little or no riding experience, families and children, larger groups, and visitors who want a more relaxed ride through the Sandar valley.
Please note: We do not accept bookings for the summer of 2026 before after easter 2026 (April).
Cost: 12.900 kr . Kids up to 12 years: 10.900 kr
Duration: 2 hours – includes: preparation for riding + approx 1.25 hours riding (depending on the size of the group and how quickly we get started).
Departure times: Right after 10:00 am when everybody has arrived.
Please arrive at our coffeehouse 10:00 am to get directions to the stables.

Valley to sea tour
Our Valley to Sea tour starts by heading into the Sandar valley, between the Westfjords' highest mountains. We will take a small break in the grass with the horses before continuing our ride along the Sanda river. Finally we will head out to the black sand beaches where the river meets the sea in Dýrafjörður. In some parts of the valley we will pick up the pace and try trotting and the famous ‘tolt’ gait.
This 2.5-hour tour is most suitable for riders who have some experience riding or are comfortable with a slightly faster pace trotting or tölting.

Cost: 15.900kr
Duration: 2.5 hours, includes: preparation for riding + ~1.75 hours riding, depending on the size of the group and how quickly we get started.
Departure time: Right after 13:00 when everybody have arrived.
Please arrive no later than 13:00 at our coffeehouse to get directions to the stables.
Requirements:
minimum 2 riders**
maximum 8 riders.

riders should be physically fit enough to keep up with the faster pace
minimum age 10 years old
**if we do not reach the minimum for the longer tour we may combine with the shorter ride.
